Some outbound links to third-party providers may earn the publication a commission if a reader signs up. Where that is the case, the item carries a visible disclosure and the link is marked rel="nofollow sponsored". A commission never changes an assessment, a verification state or a ranking.

Sponsored content and press releases

Sponsored items and press releases are labelled at the top of the item and in every listing that includes them. They are excluded from the news and analysis feeds, excluded from the homepage editorial rails, and are not written by the editorial desk on the advertiser's behalf without that label.

What advertisers do not get

• Advance sight of, or approval over, editorial content.
• Removal or alteration of unfavourable factual coverage.
• Placement inside editorial feeds without a sponsorship label.

Reader impact

Using an affiliate link costs you nothing extra, but you should still assume a commercial interest exists and verify any provider independently — including its regulatory status in your own jurisdiction — before depositing funds.
